Is One of the Least Coordinating Anions Suitable to Serve as Electrolyte Salt for Magnesium‐Ion Batteries?

چکیده
Abstract Weakly coordinating anions (WCAs) are considered promising candidates for application as electrolytes in multivalent post‐lithium batteries. One strong candidate electrolyte salt Mg battery is [Mg(L) x ][Al(OR F ) 4 ] 2 (L=MeCN (acetonitrile), DME (1,2‐dimethoxyethane); =3, 6; R =C(CF 3 that contains [Al(OR − one of the least WCAs known. Here we present a novel synthetic route, which vibrational, NMR and XRD analyses show formation clean, pristine without common contaminants found published routes. The electrochemistry this pure [Mg(DME) (0.2 m DME) was investigated via cyclic voltammetry (CV). In contrast to previous publications using impure materials, CV showed no sign deposition from all conditions tested. This also holds when including additives LiCl, NaCl, MgCl , Li[BH or mixture /Mg[HMDS] (HMDS=hexamethyldisilazide) THF. Quantum chemical calculations suggested possibility anion decomposition at negative electrode, leading an electronically insulating MgF layer (rutile structure) on electrode materials hypothesis confirmed by XPS investigation electrodes exposed containing [Al(OC(H)(CF potentials, only presence electrolyte, but not related (which allowed deposit magnesium reversibly electrode).

THE DILEMMA OF HEMODYNAMIC INSTABILITY DURING INDUCTION OF ANESTHESIA: CAN MIDAZOLAM SERVE AS A SUITABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR THIOPENTONE?
Both midazolam and thiopental sodium are being used as induction agents and for maintenance of anesthesia. In contrast to other benzodiazepines such as diazepam, midazolam has a rapid onset of action and fast distribution and causes few cardiovascular or respiratory effects. Being water soluble, midazolam is also associated with a low incidence of venous irritation. The purpose of this stu...
متن کاملCoordinating anions: (phosphino)tetraphenylborate ligands as new reagents for synthesis.
Anionic, electron-releasing phosphines that incorporate a borate counteranion within the ligand framework are promising reagents for organometallic catalysis. This report describes the synthesis of a new class of monodentate tertiary phosphines built upon the commonly employed tetraphenylborate anion. These new phosphines are highly stable and strongly electron-releasing and readily coordinate ...
متن کاملEffects of Salt Additives to the KOH Electrolyte Used in Ni/MH Batteries
KOH-based electrolytes with different salt additives were investigated to reduce their corrosive nature toward Mg/Ni metal hydride alloys used as negative electrodes in nickel metal hydride (Ni/MH) batteries. Alkaline metal halide salts and oxyacid salts were studied as additives to the traditional KOH electrolyte with concentrations varying from 0.005 M to 1.77 M. Effects of the cations and an...
متن کاملMagnesium Ethylenediamine Borohydride as Solid-State Electrolyte for Magnesium Batteries
Solid-state magnesium ion conductors with exceptionally high ionic conductivity at low temperatures, 5 × 10-8 Scm-1 at 30 °C and 6 × 10-5 Scm-1 at 70 °C, are prepared by mechanochemical reaction of magnesium borohydride and ethylenediamine. The coordination complexes are crystalline, support cycling in a potential window of 1.2 V, and allow magnesium plating/stripping. While the electrochemical...
